The Petrolia Foot Clinic & Laser Centre offers a simple & effective treatment for nail fungus to help eliminate those yellow, discolored, brittle nails and turn them into clearer, healthier looking nails.
Our clinic uses a laser that is approved by Health Canada for the treatment of toenail fungus. The FOX 1064 laser has been cleared to be both safe and effective for the treatment of toenail fungus.
How does it work?
Laser light passes through the nail & the surrounding tissue. The laser light is absorbed by pigment in the fungi, which causes the pigment to heat, and this heat kills or damages the fungal organism.
How many treatments?
It requires a total of 4 treatments. The treatments are one month apart.
Post-op Treatment Care
- Wear clean socks immediatey after treatment
- Spray shoes with antifungal spray (we recommend clean sweep)
- Apply topical antifungal2x's a day until new nail has grown in (we recommend Formula 3
- Nails should be kept trimmed and cleaned (disinfect all nail care tools prior to use)
- Nail polish may be applied approx. 24 hours after the treatment
Is the treatment painful?
The treatment is not painful. You will feel a warm sensation as the laser is applied.
